Coulter & Walsh is an insurance/coverage-oriented firm founded in 1998 by John V. Coulter and Philip J. Walsh, who had both been members of various large, long-established, insurance-oriented firms.
Originally a London-oriented firm, over the last decade we have increasingly been of service to domestic US carriers, although we have not lost sight of our heritage. We have decades of experience protecting the interests of domestic US carriers, the London Market, and offshore insurance and reinsurance intermediaries, together with defense of third-party claims regarding matters of professional indemnity, executive liability, maritime, product liability and personal injury. But critically, we also have extensive professional and executive lines broking and underwriting experience so we have a working knowledge of the broking – underwriting – claims cycle and the litigation process with a unique commercial and panoramic perspective which distinguishes us from other firms.
